A Ninja Slob Drew Me is a Southampton based eight string bassist and music producer.
He creates atmoshperic instrumental music that combines intricate, moody eight string bass compositions with programmed elements to create a unique blend of ambient, experimental sounds and textures. He aims to make bass guitar music that isn’t just for other musicians, but which appeals to a larger audience and speaks to people.
He has released two albums and an EP, all recorded on a home computer and all of which are available from the website.
Live, A Ninja Slob Drew Me also includes Shaun Smith, who provides the programmed laptop elements, which combine with the bass to create a unique and exciting show.
A Ninja Slob Drew Me have mostly played in and around Southampton, but have also travelled around the UK with fellow Southampton band The Program Initiative.
“Finger-tapping beautiful, ambient textures from an 8-string bass over trip-hop sound textures and occasionally delving into moments of distroted chaos, albiet still within the realms of carefully crafted beauty. A Ninja Slob Drew Me produce chill-out music that is both awe inspiring for the musicians in the crowd and tastefully exquisite listening for the casual music fan in need of something with a little bit more thought than the average Top 40 record.” – Mike Spall, Mintsouth
“an eclectic duo who completely tore the stage up. Their melodic rythms combined with distinctive guitar riffs made for an absolutely epic performance.” – Ruth Walker, Listed
